Together with Padenghe sul Garda and Sirmione, Pozzolengo participates in the SFIDA project, which is financed by the European Commission (within the LIFE-Environment program) and co-financed by the Administrative Office for Environmental Qualty of the Lombardy Regional Authority.

The project aims to create a system of support for decisions to make the environment part of city plans and programs. This system is being applied in an experimental way to the elaboration of a strategic plan for sustainable tourism.

It also intends to provide software support for:

• organizing meaningful and active participation;
• ensuring that procedures and technical studies are transparent;
• guaranteeing the repeatability of analyses;
• enabling and facilitating interaction between the subjects involved.

The partners in the SFIDA project are:

• the cities of Padenghe sul Garda,
• Pozzolengo and Sirmione;
• the Department for Sustainable Development of the Lombardy Regional Authority, which also co-finances the project;
• and the Poliedra Environmental Center of Milan Polytechnic, which coordinates the activities and creates the software tools.
